I was born and raised on the island of Kauai. I became a multi-sport athlete at Kapaa High School playing volleyball, basketball and running cross-country/track. I then attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where I received a scholarship for running cross country and track/field. I graduated in 2007 with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology. I am currently attending KCC in pursuit of my Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) certification.
Music has been in my family for generations and it has been my passion since I was a little girl. My parents are still very active in the Hawaii music scene as well. My mom, Loke Sasil, is one half of the beautiful duo, Leahi. My dad, Sean Carillo, also well known by many musicians is a solo artist on Kauai. My great grandfather, George Kaleiohi, Sr. composed a number of traditional Hawaiian songs, one of which is the beautiful love song, "Wai'ulu" whom he wrote for my great grandmother.
I grew up surrounded by amazing talent. As a little girl I danced hula while my mom played and sang for tourists, I competed in tahitian dance competitions, and I learned to play the ukulele. I began singing publicly my senior year of high school where I competed in the Brown Bags to Stardom.
I put music on hold during my college years and only sang at small get togethers. After college, I decided it was time to continue my passion so I learned to play guitar and made my way out into the local music scene. I played for private parties and solo gigs every weekend. I eventually put a band together in 2011, Shar and the Crew.
I recently released my first cd titled "Letting Go" which features five (5) original tunes. You can purchase it on Amazon.com or iTunes TODAY!
I am currently working on my next album.
